The wind from a passing pack can nearly knock people over.

Holy shit, this isn't even a thought that ever crossed my mind lol.

Wow, didn't know it was like that, thanks for sharing this

One of the more dangerous things you can do, but also something you have to do once. Even in practice somewhere when its only one car, its just mind boggling.

LOL all those rednecks do is turn left and throw empty beer cans in the back seat; takes zero talent and even a bad GP2 driver could literally win every race by multiple laps literally any European would win every race.

That is awesome. I still remember feeling that whine/growl vibrating my insides the first time I went to a NASCAR race. And that was at a short track.

THANKS, SKOALBAMA!

Ask Juan Pablo Montoya why he hasn't won every race then.

I said Europeans you stupid Amerifat sheesh I know you can't read but seriously

While yes 200 MPH is fast, NASCARs just punch a huge hole through the air and a whole train of them drafting each other just magnifies the hole in the air they are pushing. You can think it is more that the cars are just creating a huge vacuum that is trying to pull these people along with the cars.
Man I miss going to Irwindale for the stock car and truck races on the 1/2 mile track. Nothing beats the noise of those V8s rumbling around a short course.

Literally even a Finnish child could win by literally a half dozen laps.

Meh more narrow mindedness. Racing is racing, don't like it pipe down and find something constructive to do.

Teaching you yankees what real racing is is very constructive maybe you'll learn something probably not

Generally I could care less about NASCAR or oval track racing - but this is seriously cool

You said "even a bad GP2 driver could literally win every race", so I mentioned an F1 driver who has won in F1, therefore he should do even better by your example. And even with his track record in F1, my initial comment still stands.

Oh please you can't even stand out of your Rascal scooter

Classy dude, always classy when someone calls out your comment and all you can come back with is derogatory generalizations.

One of my Christmas gifts this year was tickets to NHMS this summer with pit passes. I've never really followed NASCAR but I'm still excited just because I've never been to any race of any sort before.

If you like your ears, wear ear plugs. I've been to like 2 or 3 races at California Speedway when I was like 12 or so. My dad had a friend who had infield passes with a motor home. Its pretty awesome being on the infield of a track to watch the race. Short course races are the best, nothing beats the 1/2 mile or 1/4 mile tracks whether it is dirt racing or stock cars. It is pretty sweet to be able to see the whole track and follow the whole race without losing sight of the cars. You'll have fun, just remember to tailgate it up as food and beer is going to ruin your wallet once you get inside the track.

Just a little news: Keiichi Tsuchiya in the 1990s competed in one race on Twin Ring Motegi with Nascar placed on podium. A JGTC and Group B racer placed podium in a sport he never competed in. It is quite a easy sport.

He crashed out of his only Cup race, an exhibition at that.

I didn't remember him crashing, must've confused it with his race at Silverstone with the Lotuses/Minis?

When is this from? How are they allowed to be so close? They didn't learn from the Carl Edwards crash, the Nationwide crash last year, etc?

But a former Indy driver (I won't mention her name) is doing well to finish in the top 20 .
![]() 02/07/2014 at 11:36 |

Yeah, it's really easy. Just ask Juan Pablo, Robby Gordon, or Marcos Ambrose.

They sure have a lot of faith in Billy-Joe's fencing. Bet the drivers all made sure they were smiling for the lil lady too.

Go to a NHRA drag race.......you get to get right next to the race cars in the pits and the noise is incredible , but only in 5 second bursts :-)
